CME Session on APPROACH TO A PATIENT WITH ACUTE DYSPNOEA (21.02.2010)
We had a CME session on 21.02.2010 by the popular Consultant Pulmonologist, & Bronchoscopist Dr.S.P.Vivekanandhan, on APPROACH TO A PATIENT WITH ACUTE DYSPNOEA. Dr.M.G.Chandra Sekaran and Dr.S.Rajamanickam were the chair persons. The meeting was attended by about 80 members of our branch. As usual, there was good interaction, at the end of the meet
CME session on MIXED HYPER LIPIDAEMIAS (07.03.2010)
We had a CME session at our IMA Hall A/C on 07.03.2010. The speaker was Dr.N.Kasirajan, Senior Consultant Physician & Cardiologist, Apollo Speciality Hospitals of Madurai. He delivered a lecture on MIXED HYPER LIPIDAEMIAS. The chairpersons of the meet were Dr.C.A.Mathiselvan and Dr.P.Rajammal. About 60 of our members attended the meet and there was good interaction at the end of the session.
CME session (on 04.04.2010)
Our Branch and Indian Dental Association, Dindigul District, have arranged for a friendship meet and a CME session at our IMA Hall AC on 04.04.2010 at 7.30pm.It was a novel venture carried out for the first ever time and it came out very successfully, thnaks to the high level of co operation and coordination between the two sister wings. Dr.J.C.Sekar in his welcome address recalled the spontaneous move taken by the IDA to take part in the bandh called for by the IMA on 8.05.2009 to protest against the kidnapping and subsequent brutal murder of our senior member, Dr.M Baskaran. He thanked the IDA for the co operation. Dr. C.Muralidharan also expressed similar feelings and welcomed the IDA members. Dr.Radhakrishnan, President of IDA, promised all co operation to IMA in future also and told he was very happy to take part in the joint meet. Dr.Girish. orthopedician from Coimbatore and President, IMA Coimbatore branch delivered the first lecture on THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY. He explained how very effective and safe the ortho procedures are in the current scenerio and how important it is for the doctors to convince the patients for surgery to improve their quality of life. He quoted many examples from his case records and his talk was very absorbing. Dr.Vijayalakshmi, wife of Dr.Girish and a leading dental surgeon at Coimbatore, pioneering in the field of microscopic dental surgery gave the second lecture on the PANORAMA OF MICROSCOPIC DENTAL SURGERY. Her lecture was detailing the state of the art of dental practice by using microscopes in practice and was fascinating. Dr. J.C.Babu ortho surgeon and R.Radha krishnan, dental surgeon were the chair persons for the meet. About 30 dentists and 60doctors took part in the meet. Dr.Sudharsan , Hony. secretary, IDA, thanked the gathering. The whole atmosphere was lively and lit up with broad smiles, friendly chats and at the end of the session which ended with a grand dinner at 11pm, it was opined to re live the moments by organising more such meets , at least once a year.
CME on Management of Gastro Esophageal Reflux Diseases (GERD) - What is new today? (19-09-2010 )
CME on “Management of ‘GERD” – What is new today? was conducted in coordination with Torrent PRIM Division on 19-09-2010 at 07-00 p.m. IMA Hall, Dindigul. About 78 members of IMA Dindigul branch were attended the CME. The Speaker of the CME was Dr.P.RAJESH PRABHU, M.D., D.M., Gastro Enterologist from Apollo Specialty Hospital, Madurai delivered a talk on “Management of GERD” – What is new today?. Though he explained the management in a simplified manner, it was an excellent presentation and most of the senior Doctors appreciated the talk as they had all their doubts cleared about the GERD.
